SEH-A Receives Environmental Excellence Award of the Decade from Association of Washington Businesses (AWB)

The Association of Washington Business has honored SEH-A for a decade of achievement in its environmental efforts. 

The award is part of AWB’s annual Environmental Excellence Awards which honor companies for improving the environment around them.  SEH-A was recognized for reducing contaminants, and for recycling used sterile equipment and clothing.

Recipients of the Award of the Decade had to meet some tough criteria.  Over the past 10 years, more than 100 companies have received awards.  All previous winners were evaluated for outstanding contributions, creativity, leadership, and a sustained commitment to a corporate culture of environmental and economic excellence.

“There is a stereotype of businesses as being unconcerned about the environment and the community that surrounds them,” says AWB President Don Brunell.  “These awards show that this is simply not true.  Washington’s employers work hard to remain good neighbors and environmental stewards.”

Having a clean and healthy workplace – in clean, safe and healthy communities supported by good education – should be our common goal.  And that is what these awards are all about:  showing each other, and the public, how businesses are leaders and contributors to that effort!
